Job Description
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and verification of the F35 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) and the Power Thermal Management System (PTMS) Update, along with continued support of the baseline fielded Propulsion and PTMS.
What You Will Be Doing- Develop functional and physical architecture definitions
- Develop and maintain detailed software requirements
- Develop and test required hardware/software integration tests within a lab environment
- Develop models of the system to test software fixes with real aircraft data
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineers to troubleshoot systemic issues and aircraft faults
- Query fleet data and use data analytics to establish system‑level requirements based on fleet utilization
- 3 days off per weekend with a flexible 4/10 work schedule

You are a collaborative, results‑driven professional with strong communication and presentation skills. You have deep experience in propulsion performance analysis, stress assessment, and system integration, and you enjoy mentoring junior team members while working closely with cross‑functional Aeronautics disciplines and external propulsion partners.
Further Information About This OpportunityMust be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret clearance. The position is located at a Lockheed Martin facility in Fort Worth, TX.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM discipline
- 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink scripting and modeling and C, C++, C#, or a related language
- Experience with software requirements development
- Experience with software/hardware integration and testing
- Active Secret Government Security Clearance
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative, and team‑based environment
- Experience with Jira, Git, Git Lab, and CI/CD concepts
- Experience with Visual Studio
- Knowledge of embedded computer architectures and hardware
- Experience with SIMON test development environments
- Strong problem‑solving skills, inquisitive, analytical, detail‑oriented
- Enjoys troubleshooting complex technical issues
This position requires a government security clearance. US citizenship is required.
