Principal IT Software Engineer

• Define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain complex software applications
• Write, code, and test complex applications and reports
• Research, design, document, and modify complex software specifications
• Create functional specifications for highly complex requirements
• Leverage business-domain knowledge and existing frameworks to support development projects
• Design, develop, modify, debug, and implement short- and long-term IT solutions through applications, systems architecture, network systems, and applications infrastructure
• Analyze existing programs or formulate logic for new systems
• Devise logic procedures, prepare flowcharts, code, and test/debug programs
• Prepare detailed program specifications
• Develop system implementation plans
• Prepare and obtain approval of system and programming documentation
• Assign development tasks to team members
• Train users during system implementation
• Ensure development coding standards and maintain Project Life Cycle standards
• Recommend changes to development, maintenance, and system standards

• Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Engineering (any field), Math, or closely related field
• 5 years of progressive experience in the position offered or related occupation
• 5 years of experience with RPG, RPG-ILE, CL, SQL, AS/400 environments, DDM, DB2 Database, XML, FTP, SFTP, and MQ
• 5 years of experience supporting a business-critical production environment
• 5 years of experience with distribution business systems and warehouse management software
• 5 years of experience with change management tools/systems
• 5 years of experience translating business requirements to IT systems requirements
• 5 years of experience working with offshore teams and multi-location teams
• 5 years of experience with project estimation, agile methodologies, managing backlogs and sprints
• 3 years of experience with web services
• 3 years of experience integrating application systems with iSeries
• 3 years of experience reverse engineering and documenting legacy applications
• 3 years of experience with data migration from legacy applications
• Must report to the company office in Fort Worth, TX 2 days per week
• Must live within commuting distance of Fort Worth, TX

Demonstrates expertise in software application development, including coding, testing, and maintaining complex systems. Proficient in translating business requirements into IT solutions while adhering to development standards and project life cycle methodologies.
