Title of position: Class A Flat Bed Truck Driver

Position type: Full Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday (Day Shift Only) 5:15am – 2:00pm

Pay range: $24/hour

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Description of responsibilities: The CDL Driver is responsible for the timely delivery of various items of varying size and weight between various customer locations. This position requires that the person be physically fit and have at least a cursory knowledge of the freight shipping business. In this position, the person will be required to skillfully manage the operation of a bobtail truck or a tractor on heavily congested highways and in tight spaces.

This position must work closely with customers, other drivers, stock room personnel, vendor employees, and other staff related to H5 Fleet Services contracts.

• Local daytime Routes Only
• But need to be flexible in terms of hours and days scheduled
• This full-time, permanent position supports one of Logisticorp’s local Texas utility customers
• Moffett forklift experience preferred but not required (must be willing to learn to how operate).
• General knowledge of strapping/chaining down obscure objects in compliance with DOT.
• Loading/Offloading using forklift on rough terrains.
• Be open to ON CALL 24/7 during peak times.
• Must be willing to work under inclement weather conditions.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to

• Must be able to lift 75lbs.
• Manual transmission experience required.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck/tractor to ensure that it is in safe and reliable operating.
• Reports maintenance issues to supervisors to ensure prompt repairs to equipment maintain safe and reliable operations condition.
• Local Drivers must check in with dispatch and obtain instructions for the day.
• Timely pick-up, loading, securing and unloading of scheduled and unscheduled freight aboard assigned vehicle. Must unload at customer site. Off-site driver’s pick-up and deliver at various Metroplex vendors and customer locations.
• Piece count and/or otherwise verify loads, properly handle manifests, and be responsible for maintaining and prompt submission of related paperwork. Driver is required to inspect before on-boarding all freight, note any damage and make necessary notifications, and properly secure all freight for transit.

Required Requirement: Flat Bed Trailer Experience, High School education and/or minimum 5 years driving experience, must adhere to all City, State and Company safety requirements.

Required skills: Customer Service, Leadership, Clear Communication, basic mechanical and driver troubleshooting knowledge and skills, e.g., tire changes bad weather experience, basic problem-solving, etc.

Additional Requirements :
Current Class A Commercial Driver’s license, must have a current or be able to obtain a DOT medical exam card, must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check. (No felonies, crimes against persons or theft),
