Logistics Coordinator
We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to support our Traffic team in our Fort Worth, TX location. Under the direction of the Transportation Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for receiving, reviewing and generating traffic orders in the order processing system and maintaining the open and closed traffic order files.
What You'll Do:- Serves as the single point-of-contact to cover truck shipments via traffic orders for assigned plant inbound, outbound, intercompany, and return material
- Analyzes transportation and distribution systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and economical delivery of the organization's products
- Schedules, reviews, processes and expedites traffic orders until timely delivery of products
- Verifies destination and trailer requirements with plant and informs carrier
- Coordinates between Order Fulfillment Representatives and the plant(s), balancing the prioritized needs of the customers and the current capabilities of the plant(s)
- Responds to a variety of requests, such as status of order, shipping schedules, freight costs, etc.
- Confirms shipping and tagging details and other special instructions
- Participates in daily and weekly team meetings
- Provides backfill for other Logistics Coordinators when required
- Works closely with sales, production, purchasing, and accounting teams
- Complies with company policies, procedures and applicable government regulations.
- Order Fulfillment duties and other duties as assigned
- High school diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of two (2) years transportation experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Excellent customer service skills, strong work ethic, and great organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly establish a good understanding of plant capacities, constraints, equipment, and scope of work products
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- A friendly, customer service attitude
- Confidence when handling difficult customers and/or objections
- Attention to detail
Experience in the Roadway Safety Industry is desirable. Preferred experience with Oracle Net Suite, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and order entry systems is highly desirable.
