Position: Equipment Operator IV - Pct. 2 Kennedale

Job Title

Proficient in the operation of complex and specialized heavy construction equipment involved in the maintenance and construction of County roads and city projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates different types of complex, specialized/heavy equipment.
  • Performs road maintenance or construction related duties while operating equipment.
  • Transports equipment and supplies to and from the job site.
  • Ensures/implements and maintains traffic control standards at work site; inspects and manages precinct sign inventory and replacement.
  • Performs routine maintenance on equipment or trucks and reports needed repairs.
  • Maintains job site safety standards.
  • May develop work schedules, evaluate lower-level employees, and prioritize jobs.
  • May order supplies.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Requirements
    • High School diploma or GED.
    • Minimum of three (3) years related experience.
    • An additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for a high school diploma.
    • A Class A CDL is required upon hire, and a tanker endorsement is required within thirty (30) days of hire.
    • Must have advanced knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
    Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements

    While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to stoop, bend, push and pull. May have to lift heavy boxes or objects up to 100 pounds. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals. Exposure to extreme heat and cold.
