Logistics Coordinator
Job Summary:
DiMare Fresh is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Logistics Coordinator to support transportation operations across our distribution network. This role coordinates inbound shipments, schedules carriers, tracks deliveries, and maintains timely communication with internal departments to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Coordinate and dispatch inbound for produce shipments.
- Schedule carrier appointments and monitor shipment movement from pickup through final delivery.
- Communicate daily with carriers, warehouses, and vendors regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.
- Track and trace loads to ensure timely arrivals and proactive communication of delays or service disruptions.
- Maintain accurate transportation records, shipment documentation, and system updates within transportation management systems.
- Assist in managing transfers between DiMare Fresh distribution facilities.
- Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to resolve transportation challenges.
- Investigate delivery discrepancies, shortages, delays, freight claims and assist in corrective actions.
- Support routing optimization and freight cost management initiatives.
- Assist with onboarding and managing transportation providers and carrier relationships.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with carriers, vendors and internal teams.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required
; related college Degree preferred. - 2+ years of experience in logistics, dispatch, operations, or produce industry preferred.
- Experience coordinating shipments and working with carriers in distribution.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of produce distribution and cold-chain transportation is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management software (Produce Pro experience preferred).
- Understanding of DOT regulations is a plus.
This position is performed in an office environment and requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. Frequent use of telephones, computers, and other office equipment is required. Employees must be able to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members. Employees must be able to review shipment documentation, reports, and computer screens with accuracy.
