Job Summary

Austin Wood Recycling (AWR), a family‑owned company rooted in sustainability since 1987, is seeking a detail‑oriented Maintenance Inventory Specialist to support warehouse and maintenance operations.

This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating parts purchasing and delivery, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations. Success in this role is measured by inventory accuracy, timely parts availability, equipment uptime support, and adherence to safety and organizational standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing inventory
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or discrepancies
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and audits
  • Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and tracked
Warehouse Operations
  • Receive, unload, and store inventory items
  • Pick, pack, and ship materials to internal and external customers
  • Inspect products for defects or damage and report concerns
  • Maintain organized warehouse layout for efficient workflow
  • Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks
Parts Coordination & Purchasing
  • Create purchase orders (POs) for maintenance parts (stocked and non-stocked)
  • Utilize maintenance software to receive, process, and close POs accurately
  • Coordinate with Regional Maintenance Supervisor on parts priorities
  • Monitor restocking needs and confirm replenishment
  • Pick up parts from vendors and deliver to job sites or shop locations
  • Ensure timely delivery of parts to minimize equipment downtime
  • Maintain accurate documentation of purchases and inventory updates
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Wear required PPE (safety toe boots, vest, hard hat, gloves)
  • Report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in warehouse areas
Communication & Coordination
  • Maintain communication with maintenance leadership regarding inventory levels and order status
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to support equipment readiness
  • Carry out duties in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of warehouse or inventory‑related experience
  • Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and inventory systems)
  • Ability to operate forklifts and warehouse equipment
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and walk for extended periods
Work Environment and Schedule
  • Full‑time, onsite warehouse and maintenance support role
  • Active industrial environment
  • Exposure to equipment, outdoor conditions, and warehouse operations
  • Physical demands include lifting, standing, and movement throughout shift
