Job Details- Shipping and Receiving:
Unload and load trailers, verify proper stacking, avoid mixing pallets unless instructed, tape or stretch-wrap pallets to ensure product stability. - Checking:
Prior to product storage, count all product, compare counts to drivers’ manifest, inspect shipments for damage, infestation and production code dates, and report shortages, damages, and misplacements to the supervisor. - Over, Short, and Damage:
Identify and recover any received or shipping damage consistent with Company policy, reporting all shortages and overages to the supervisor. - Inventory:
Assist in physical inventories using scanners and ensure proper stock rotation by following lot number identification. - Order Picking:
Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring correct quantity, type, and lot numbers match picking documents. Perform picking efficiently to meet customer service standards; pallets may reach up to 7 feet in height. - Loading:
Efficiently move product from staging or storage areas into railcars or trailers. - Equipment:
Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, slip‑sheet, or other power equipment. Maintain facilities, equipment and materials in a neat, clean, orderly fashion. Conduct daily inspections to verify equipment operation before starting the day’s activity, and report any problems to the supervisor. Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.
- Education: High School or better.
- Experience: Previous high reach forklift and/or warehouse training.
- Other Abilities:
- Bend and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally with assistance.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
- Be able to speak and hear for safety and productivity.
- Use scanners, tablets, radio, phones, and other warehouse machinery.
- Lift overhead when required.
- Work overtime as an essential part of the position.
- Drive a registered motor vehicle to satisfy daily requirements.
- Have acceptable and/or correctable vision.
- Work in a temperature range of +50 to –30 degrees F with moderate noise levels.
- Personal interaction and communication required to and from other people is extremely high.
- Good arithmetic and reading skills.
- Understand and follow verbal instruction, written instruction and company policies.
- Be a self‑starter that can work independently and coordinate with others.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment with the ability to manage stress and productivity guidelines.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in appearance and communications at all times.
- Participate in staff and/or customer meetings as required.
- Take initiative to prevent non‑conformities related to product, process and quality of systems.
- Identify and record any issues relating to product, processes and/or quality.
- Propose and implement solutions through appropriate channels and ensure they are effectively implemented.
- Follow posted security procedures at all times while in the building.
- Participate in safety and educational training programs.
