Overview
Warehouse Operations Lead has general responsibility to assist in coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for directing work assignments in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
Responsibilities- Work closely with shift leadership to accomplish shift goals
- Oversee and coordinate warehouse processes such as receiving, put away, picking, and loading of products.
- Direct work assignments to employees
- Provide daily hands‑on support in material handling and forklift responsibilities
- Drive compliance with safety, quality, and productivity goals in support of warehouse leadership team objectives
- Brainstorm and suggest new ideas on how to improve processes to supervisor
- Communicate professionally, both orally and written, to internal and external partners
- Communicate problems, concerns, and ideas to management; assist in finding solutions to problem areas.
- Ensure efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment
- Train new and current employees on operational SOPs and WIs
- Ensure the warehouse is clean and orderly; including but not limited to organizing and rotating inventory, maintaining product labels, sweeping warehouse, and assisting in staging orders for delivery
- Ensure product is stored safely and in the proper place.
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
- Additional duties as assigned by the warehouse supervisor or manager.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
- Experience with Warehouse Management System
- Computer applications using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
- Good visual acuity to inspect shipments.
- Ability to input data on the computer to create a daily inventory report.
- Accuracy in recordkeeping and in sorting, checking, counting, and verifying items received.
- Strong time management, organizational, planning and self‑motivation skills.
- MHE experience or desire to learn MHE.
- Must have attention to detail
