Warehouse Material Handler; 1st Shift

Job Function

Prepares customer orders for shipping and helping with production by performing the following essential duties.

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Properly stencils shipping information as required.
• Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment assigned.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

Stand or sit (stationary position), walk, use hand/fingers to handle or feel, climb (stairs/ladders) or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk/hear, see, push or pull, reach, repetitive motion. Medium/Heavy work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Language skills:
  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Mathematical skills:
  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning ability:
  Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Physical demands:
  Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Certificates:
  Forklift Certification, Preferred.
• Other abilities:
  Ability to work irregular hours.
