Operations Supervisor Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Supervisor to lead daily warehouse and production operations. This individual will be responsible for driving productivity, managing a team of hourly employees, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong organizational skills, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities Production & Operations Management- Supervise daily production activities to ensure schedules and customer commitments are met.
- Lead and manage a team of hourly associates, maximizing labor efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor workflow and allocate resources to achieve operational goals.
- Maintain accurate production, performance, and downtime records.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce labor costs.
- Analyze production metrics and implement process improvements.
- Investigate production discrepancies and develop corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and ongoing development for production employees.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team‑oriented work environment.
- Promote a culture focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Generate and review production reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Analyze operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate performance results and recommendations to management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Enforce all safety procedures and participate in safety initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of warehouse or distribution center experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to write reports, correspondence, and operational documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, and databases.
- Ability to operate powered industrial equipment (forklifts or other powered industrial vehicles).
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong work ethic with proven dependability, initiative, and time management skills.
- Comfortable presenting information and communicating with employees, customers, and leadership teams.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the warehouse or distribution center.
- Ability to regularly inspect operations across the facility.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.
