Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Manager in overseeing the safe, accurate, and efficient flow of products through our warehouse facility. This role is responsible for the receiving, storage, inventory control, shipping, equipment safety, employee coordination, and facility readiness while helping ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, food safety standards, HACCP procedures, and established operational practices.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, safety-focused, comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, and able to communicate clearly with warehouse personnel, drivers, vendors, and leadership.

Reporting Relationship

The Warehouse Manager reports to the VP/General Manager and works closely with leads, shipping and receiving staff, inventory personnel, equipment operators, housekeeping staff, the Transportation Manager, and corporate staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, staging, loading, and shipping.
  • Ensure the inbound and outbound products meet company standards including accuracy, acceptable condition, proper documentation, correct tagging, and HACCP Standards.
  • Maintain accurate system records for receiving, shipping, inventory, customer orders, cycle counts, discrepancies, and operational documentation.
  • Monitor product handling, storage, trailer preparation, temperature requirements, load securement, and food safety procedures to help prevent product damage or spoilage.
  • Promote safe warehouse operations by supporting equipment inspections, proper equipment use, operator certification requirements, lockout procedures, safety training, and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Coordinate employee work assignments, productivity, training needs, coaching, and communication of performance or conduct concerns to warehouse leadership.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and inspection-ready facility in compliance with OSHA, HACCP, food safety, security, and company policies.
  • Communicate operational issues promptly, including damaged product, inventory discrepancies, equipment failures, maintenance needs, unscheduled shipments, customer concerns, driver or truck issues, accidents, incidents, and other exceptions.
  • Provide backup assistance for dispatching, routing, dock office activities, customer credit investigations, and other warehouse or transportation-related duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in logistics, supply chain, warehouse operations, or supervision preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, or distribution management experience required; food industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety practices, OSHA requirements, food safety procedures, and inventory control processes preferred.
  • Ability to operate or become certified to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as required by company policy.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to identify and resolve operational issues quickly.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work accurately in warehouse, inventory, or database systems.
  • Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, as operational needs require.

  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, loading, unloading, and material handling.
  • Ability to work in temperature-controlled areas, including refrigerated or cooler environments as required.
  • Ability to follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to maintain focus and accuracy in a fast-paced operation with changing priorities.
Performance Expectations
  • Warehouse equipment is used safely, inspected properly, and maintained to reduce repairs and downtime.
  • Inventory, receiving, shipping, and customer order records are accurate and timely.
