Join Moose Media as a Video Journalist on a unique fellowship focusing on rural issues in British Columbia. This contract role blends writing, video, and audio journalism for a deep storytelling experience.
The fellowship aims to engage early-career journalists, especially those who are Black and/or Indigenous. You'll create three comprehensive report packages, including articles, videos, and audio segments, intended for local and national audiences. Collaborate closely with both the managing editor and a mentor to enhance your journalistic skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop three unique story pitches with editors
• Conduct in-depth interviews with various sources
• Write publish-ready articles for
• Create engaging videos for social media platforms
• Edit audio clips for weekly radio segments
Requirements:
• Recent journalism or communications degree preferred
• Solid writing and interviewing abilities
• Video shooting and editing experience
• Effective time management and independence
• Willingness to travel for interviews
