Position OverviewFort St. John Co-op is hiring a Director of Finance to lead the financial function for our organization. This leadership role is responsible for strategy‑aligned financial stewardship, oversight of the Finance Team (Accounting, Payroll, and Administration), and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations.

Key Responsibilities- Lead all financial operations including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Oversee Payroll and Administration functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and present financial reporting packages for the GM, Board, and Committees.
- Maintain internal controls, risk management processes, and audit readiness.
- Lead capital planning and financial performance analysis.
- Ensure accurate tax, regulatory, and compliance submissions.
- Responsible for leading the Finance team, including recruitment, development & performance management.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to align financial strategies with business performance goals.
- Financial Acumen – Interprets and applies financial information to drive value and operational discipline.
- Drives Results – Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances.
- Communicates Effectively – Developing & delivering communications that cater to different audiences.
- Situational Adaptability – Adapting approaches and demeanor in real time to match shifting demands and situations.

- CPA designation preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 7+ years progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial leadership.
- 5+ years experience managing multi‑function finance teams (accounting, payroll, administration).
- Ability to work on‑site and maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and cooperation across teams.
- Strong proficiency in financial systems, budgeting, and forecasting tools.
- Candidates possessing prior experience in JD Edwards would be considered an asset.
