With a strong commitment to safety, integrity, and environmental stewardship, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Fort St. John team.
Position OverviewThe Senior Project Manager will lead a team of professionals to execute field and office-based environmental projects across Northern British Columbia and Alberta. This is a dynamic role suited for an experienced environmental professional with strong self-direction, project management, leadership, problem solving, and operational oversight skills.
This role includes direct supervision of environmental field staff and coordination with multidisciplinary internal teams.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality environmental services while supporting team development, client relationships, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and manage environmental field programs, including:
- Construction environmental monitoring
- Remediation and reclamation projects
- First Nations and industry pre-engagement assessments
- Oversee day-to-day project execution
- Track project financial performance, including cost forecasting, invoicing support, and schedule adherence
- Prepare and review technical reports, regulatory submissions, and project documentation
- Supervise environmental monitoring and data collection related to soil, water, wildlife, and vegetation programs
- Manage contractors, subcontractors, and employees in both field and office settings
- Mentor and support the professional development of junior and intermediate staff
- Collaborate with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and project success
- Support business development activities, including proposal preparation and client engagement
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company health, safety, and environmental standards
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of relevant environmental consulting experience
- Professional designation (e.g., P.Biol., R.P.Bio., P.Ag., P.Eng.) or eligibility for registration
- Strong working knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Environmental fieldwork
- Data interpretation
- Technical writing and reporting
- Proven leadership experience
- Experience with project management tools, scheduling software, or formal PM methodologies is considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in the BC oil & gas or northern resource sectors is considered a strong asset
- Experience with Fieldshare software is considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally for fieldwork
- First Aid, H2S Alive, or other safety certifications are considered an asset
