Position: Temporary Mechanical Technician Role
Enhance your career as a Mechanical Technician at Northern Lights College, focusing on a versatile range of mechanical systems. This temporary position involves heating, plumbing, and electrical repairs across campuses.

Based primarily in Fort St. John, you will report to the Manager of Facilities and be expected to travel to surrounding campuses as required.

Your role entails performing preventive maintenance, repairing various systems, and contributing to overall building operations. Success in this position relies on your troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within the Facilities Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct preventive maintenance for heating and plumbing systems

• Diagnose and repair minor electrical and pneumatic systems

• Engage in general maintenance and building upkeep

• Operate mobile equipment including loaders and tractors

• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in all work

Requirements:

• High school diploma and Trades certification in Plumbing or Gasfitter

• Three years’ institutional maintenance experience

• Proficiency in HVAC and DDC systems

• Experience with snow-clearing equipment desirable

• Valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license
