Role SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Foreman to join our team on industrial construction and maintenance projects in the Fort St. John region. The Instrumentation Foreman is responsible for leading field instrumentation crews in the safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution of project work. This role requires strong technical expertise, planning ability, and leadership in the field, with a focus on driving productivity, maintaining safety standards, and delivering work to specification.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise, coordinate, and support instrumentation crews to ensure safe and efficient execution of work
- Plan daily work activities, manpower, and material requirements to meet project schedules
- Mentor and develop apprentices and journey persons to build team capability and performance
- Conduct field‑level hazard assessments and safety meetings to maintain a strong safety culture
- Install, terminate, and commission instrument tubing and field‑mounted instrumentation
- Perform calibration, verification, and troubleshooting of metering systems, gas detection, pressure transmitters, and other instrumentation
- Install, test, calibrate, and commission industrial instrumentation and control systems
- Conduct pressure and leak testing of tubing systems to meet codes, standards, and project requirements
- Support start‑ups, shutdowns, commissioning, and maintenance activities as required
- Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation
- Review scopes of work, drawings, and work packages to ensure accurate execution
- Complete QA/QC documentation, calibration reports, inspection records, and turnover packages
- Track progress and communicate project status, risks, and resource needs to supervision
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, operations, and subcontractors
- Procure and organize tools, materials, and equipment required for execution
- Estimate labour, material requirements, and timelines for project tasks
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and company assets
- Journeyman Instrumentation Technician certification required (Red Seal preferred)
- Previous Foreman, Lead Hand, or supervisory experience in industrial construction or maintenance
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation, process control systems, and troubleshooting
- Experience with PLCs, DCS, HMI systems, transmitters, analyzers, and control valves
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, and technical specifications
- Valid CSO, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Standard First Aid, CSTS 2020
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Valid driver's licence
- Flexible for overtime, shift work, and travel as required
