Experienced Labourer

Role Description

The Experienced Labourer role is a full-time, on-site position located in Fort St John, BC. The labourer will support mechanical and maintenance activities at oil and gas facilities, including assisting tradespeople, handling materials, and operating basic tools and equipment. Day-to-day tasks include site preparation and cleanup, performing physical labour such as lifting, carrying, and moving equipment, and following detailed work instructions to support project execution and turnaround services.

The role also involves working safely in various weather conditions, adhering to company safety policies and procedures, and reporting hazards or incidents promptly. The labourer will collaborate with supervisors and team members to complete tasks on schedule while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work site.

• Experience in industrial, construction, or oil and gas labour roles, with the ability to perform physically demanding work safely and consistently.
• Proficiency in using basic hand tools and equipment, and comfort working around mechanical systems under supervision.
• Strong safety mindset, including knowledge of safe work practices, willingness to follow procedures, and ability to participate in safety meetings and training.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to take direction, work respectfully with diverse colleagues, and support collaborative work environments.
• Reliability and accountability, including punctuality, consistent attendance, and a focus on completing tasks to a high standard.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Fort St John and surrounding work sites.
• Ability to work in varying weather and remote conditions; previous remote or field work experience is an asset.
• Relevant safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, WHMIS, H2S Alive, CSTS or equivalent) are considered an advantage.
