Field- Protection and Control Technician

Position: Field-Based Protection and Control Technician
Become a Protection and Control Technician at Shermco Industries, working field-based across British Columbia. This full-time role involves testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting advanced control systems for various facilities.

As a Protection and Control Technician III, you will independently manage complex projects and provide technical guidance to junior technicians. Key responsibilities include performing relay testing, interpreting technical specifications, and analyzing fault records. Your expertise in protective relays and troubleshooting will be vital to ensure safety and quality in electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test and maintain protection and control systems

• Perform relay testing on microprocessor-based platforms

• Analyze relay event reports and fault data

• Communicate technical updates to customers and teams

• Lead field activities during maintenance and commissioning

Requirements:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field

• 3-7 years of testing or commissioning experience

• Strong knowledge of protection principles and troubleshooting

• Valid driver's licence for travel across BC

• Ability to work safely in industrial conditions
