American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 1 year of OR experience and a valid CA RN license for a 13-week day shift assignment.
Details- Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
- Performs General OR, Ambulatory OR, and Pediatric General OR procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and hernia repairs
- Handles pediatric ENT and general ENT procedures including tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy and myringotomy with tubes
- Supports orthopedic total joint replacement and thoracic VATS procedures
- Performs endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy and EGD
- Utilizes electrosurgical units and cardiac monitoring equipment
- PACU/Recovery skills preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Floating between sister facilities within the state may be required
- Active CA RN license required, must be in hand at submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room RN experience required
- 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, may include Charge RNs/Leads
- Documentation of SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care across general, pediatric, ENT, orthopedic, and thoracic surgical procedures
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history with the facility system as a permanent employee, traveler, or per-diem staff, including location and dates
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Minimal RTO requests are preferred and must be submitted upfront during the application process
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this assignment
