JOB TITLE:
Studio Engineer
LOCATION:
Foster City, CA (Onsite)
PAY RANGE: $78 - $88/hr.
DURATION: 6 months
Top Skills- Minimum 8 years in automotive design or related fields, with at least 5 years in a studio environment directly supporting vehicle design and modeling.
- Proficient in CATIA (V6 preferred) with strong ability to create, verify, and release production-intent surfacing and model setups, ensuring engineering and aesthetic compliance.
- Solid understanding of automotive engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and integration of complex systems, with demonstrated capability to translate creative design concepts into functional, production-ready vehicles.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Studio Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in shaping the future of client autonomous vehicle design.
Duties and Responsibilities- Enable Studio Designs with balanced engineering solutions
- Create/Balance Engineering Criteria to support the Studio Designs
- Support Modeling activities in the Studio - create model set-ups, model armatures
- Interface with Industrial Design, Engineering, and the Digital Modeling Groups to ensure criteria and aesthetic compliance
- Support/lead technical reviews, organize meetings as required to resolve daily working issues
- Represent the studio in any applicable meetings, generating and presenting any necessary documentation
- Check surface development against the criteria and develop alternative solutions to support the Design Theme
- Release criteria-compliant surface per Studio & Engineering agreements per program schedule
- Verify and release production intent design/engineering compliant math from surfacing groups
- Maintain a tracking list of surface development, Engineering, and Design issues
- Facilitate Bucks, mock-ups, and rapid prototype parts
- Responsible for the status of assigned parts at specific program gates
- Bachelor of Science Technical Degree (4-Year Degree)
- 5 years studio experience with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a related area of work
- Understanding of engineering theory and principles of automotive design
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Skilled in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively with others
- General interest and ability to integrate complex systems
- Familiarity with general automotive manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated skills in CATIA (V6 preferred)
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate or annual salary only, unless otherwise stated.
