Our client is helping their client find an Automotive Schematic Engineer to support the development and maintenance of logical and physical schematics for autonomous robotic vehicle platforms. This role ensures accurate documentation of electrical and electronic systems across design, manufacturing, validation, and service.

In this role, you’ll work closely with systems, harness, manufacturing, and verification teams to create clear, precise schematic documentation that supports system integration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically rigorous, and experienced in automotive electrical systems and schematic development.

As an Automotive Schematic Engineer, you'll:
  • Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics for autonomous vehicle robotic platforms.
  • Develop logical system diagrams that clearly communicate system architecture and subsystem interactions.
  • Design and document physical schematics for vehicle electrical and electronic subsystems.
  • Collaborate with harness and systems engineers to ensure accurate representation of connections, interfaces, and signal flows.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to improve system robustness and clarity.
  • Maintain schematic documentation using industry-standard tools, conventions, and best practices.
  • Ensure schematics comply with automotive standards, internal guidelines, and best practices.
  • Support manufacturing, verification, and service teams with accurate, usable schematic documentation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics for autonomous vehicle robots.
  • Develop logical system diagrams that clearly communicate system architecture and interactions, focused on interactions within and between robot subsystems.
  • Design and document physical schematics for vehicle subsystems.
  • Collaborate with harness and systems engineers to ensure accurate representation of system connections and interfaces.
  • Actively participate in design reviews and provide technical input for system improvements,
  • Maintain schematic documentation using industry-standard tools and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and best practices.
  • Support manufacturing, robot verification teams, and service documentation needs through clear, accurate schematic designs.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • 6–8 years of experience creating electrical schematics for automotive applications.
  • Proficient in schematic capture and documentation tools.
  • Strong understanding of automotive electrical and electronic systems and components.
  • Experience with wiring harness design and documentation.
  • Experience working with the Capital Tools suite, specifically Capital Logic.
