DURATION: 6 months
RATE RANGE: $68 - $78.86/hr
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, project management, or management consulting with a focus on automotive product development
- Strong understanding of vehicle testing, including crash safety and strength and durability testing
- Proficiency with project management tools and processes (e.g., Gantt charts, risk matrices, Smartsheet, Polarion, Jira)
We are seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager to lead cross‑functional initiatives within the Vehicle Attributes organization, with a focus on hardware‑driven attributes related to crash safety, operational strength, and durability. This role is responsible for planning and executing integrated technical milestones across vehicle platforms as they progress toward launch.
You will partner closely with hardware, firmware, software, safety, manufacturing, operations, systems integration, and regulatory teams to structure, plan, and deliver complex programs that ensure vehicles meet the highest safety and durability standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end‑to‑end project execution for crash safety and operational strength attribute development from concept through production
- Coordinate across Engineering, Safety, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Testing teams to deliver solutions that meet vehicle structural requirements
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for crash testing programs and durability validation activities
- Drive resolution of technical issues related to crash worthiness, structural integrity, and durability performance
- Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for crash and strength attributes against vehicle targets
- Facilitate test reviews, risk assessments, and benchmarking studies
- Manage relationships with external suppliers, testing facilities, and regulatory bodies
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including schedules, status reports, and technical specifications
- Identify program risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track
- Support regulatory compliance efforts related to FMVSS crash standards and strength and durability requirements
- BS or MS in an engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, project management, or management consulting with a focus on automotive product development
- Strong understanding of vehicle testing, including crash safety and strength and durability testing
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams through ambiguity
- Proficiency with project management tools and processes (e.g., Gantt charts, risk matrices, Smartsheet, Polarion, Jira)
- Experience working with project management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly visualize KPIs and project risks
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
- Experience with autonomous vehicles, test platforms, simulation, and automotive or aerospace development processes
- Experience with aluminum or composite vehicle structures
- Background in developing and scaling processes, strategies, plans, procedures, and reporting frameworks
- Experience handling escalations and complex stakeholder management
- Familiarity with Catia / 3DX is a plus
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate or annual salary only, unless otherwise stated.
