As a Staff Vehicle Attributes Engineer, you’ll work alongside world‑class experts in robotics, controls, and vehicle engineering to bring this vision to life.
You will sit at the heart of our Vehicle Integration team, leading attribute team, serving as a technical linchpin between vision and execution. You won't just be managing requirements, you will be driving cross‑functional decisions and resolving critical issues alongside department and engineering leadership to ensure our platform is world‑class.
In this role, you will:- Lead cross‑functional vehicle attribute teams (e.g., vehicle dynamics, NVH, thermal, energy, safety, ergonomics) to deliver key program milestones for Zoox’s next‑generation autonomous vehicle platforms.
- Define the vehicle performance of Zoox’s next‑generation autonomous vehicles to meet program requirements.
- Partner closely with Attribute Leads to define development plans, align priorities, and ensure seamless execution across engineering disciplines.
- Champion strategic decision‑making by balancing performance, cost, mass, safety, and timing to achieve optimal balance and integration of vehicle attributes.
- Deliver performance targets, identify gaps, and drive data‑based root cause analyses and resolution plans.
- Prepare and present attribute status updates for program reviews and leadership gates, ensuring risks and trade‑offs are clearly communicated.
- Drive initiatives such as defining and developing test assets and methodologies to validate vehicle‑level requirements.
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Engineering.
- At least 10+ years of experience in vehicle attribute development or integration.
- Deep technical understanding of vehicle systems, validation, and cross‑functional integration.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, drive decisions, and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience leading and guiding a vehicle development program.
- Skilled in data analysis, documentation, and reporting; proficiency with Smartsheet, Jira, and Google Workspace.
- Experience in Technical Program Management.
- Experience in electric or autonomous vehicle development preferred.
$187,000 - $259,000 a year
Base Salary Range
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign‑on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
