Test Engineer

Expected compensation: 87.40 USD Per Hour

Hire Art is helping our client find a Test Engineer to build test solutions for manufacturing the electronic platform that underpins their autonomous vehicles.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development of tests for critical components, including custom PCIe devices, networking solutions, and other PC components. You will work cross-functionally with our electrical engineering and software teams to develop and test new products and technologies.

The ideal candidate is an engineer who is curious, enthusiastic, and not afraid to embrace new technologies. You are able to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks to meet critical deadlines.

• Build and release test solutions for use for early bring‑up activities.
• Work cross‑functionally to implement the correct test coverage and process across all phases of manufacturing (PCBA, module, system, vehicle).
• Support the test and validation of prototype designs.
• Establish best practices and drive continuous improvement for test execution, test runtime, and yield.

• 6+ years of industry experience
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or equivalent technical degree
• Hands‑on experience testing, troubleshooting, and debugging complex software systems
• Knowledge of manufacturing and testing electronic assemblies; knowledge of NPI testing and validation is a strong plus
• Strong git proficiency, including git workflows, conflict resolution, advanced branching and merging, history manipulation
• Strong knowledge of Python and shell (bash) scripting. Experience with other programming languages such as C++ is beneficial
• Experience with the Linux platform—debugging failures using command-line tools such as lshw and ssh

This is a full‑time, ongoing contract position staffed via Hire Art. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Foster City, CA area.
