Source One Technical Solutions is helping our client find an Engineering Technician to support the development of electronic hardware for automotive applications.

In this role, you’ll provide rapid prototyping support and low-volume hardware assembly to enable fast design iterations during product development. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams, with performance measured against quality and schedule expectations.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, process‑driven, and able to work independently on routine tasks while maintaining high standards of workmanship.

As an Engineering Technician, you'll:

  • Support engineers during new product development to optimize manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Assist in developing alternative assembly techniques and troubleshooting solutions.
  • Accurately assemble and test electronic hardware ranging from engineering prototypes to short‑run production builds.
  • Perform quality inspections as a delegated quality reviewer within the engineering lab.
  • Execute final product testing according to written procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with engineering and development teams.
  • Consistently demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 4 to 6 yrs.
  • Experience in electro‑mechanical assembly Technical training, such as soldering, trade school, or OJT classes (preferred).
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite including, Docs, Sheets, and Slides, experience using a computer for entering data, and using the internet.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Proficient using standard assembly tools: cutters, crimpers, soldering irons, pin insertion/removal tools, and torque tools.
  • Hands‑on lab experience such as soldering, power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes.
  • Proficient verbal and written English language skills and prior experience working with product development teams in a low volume manufacturing setting.
  • IPC-610, IPC-620, or JSTD-10
  • Enthusiastic, innovative, a self‑starter, and willing to take on the challenges to work with us as an exceptional engineering technician.
  • Motivated, high energy team to ensure timely completion of projects in the Engineering Lab.
Daily tasks
  • The Operation’s Team in AHMO supports development of various electronic hardware for an automotive application.
  • Rapid prototyping capability and low volume hardware assembly, facilitating quick design iterations for product development.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Follow directions while closely adhering to process detail for each assignment.
  • Assist engineers during the development of new products to optimize the manufacturing process.
  • Assist Engineers in the development of solutions and alternative assembly techniques to resolve issues.
  • Accurately assemble and test a variety of electronic hardware from engineering prototypes through short run production.
  • Perform as a Quality Delegate, inspecting work from other technicians in the Engineering Lab Carry out assignments in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Be informative and communicate in a way that is complete, accurate and clear.
  • Maintain a consistent track‑record of attendance and prompt arrival at work.
  • Perform final product testing in accordance with written procedures.
  • Ensure your work area and equipment is kept neat, clean, and well organized.
  • Requires minimal supervision on routine tasks.
