Overview
This role will support engineering design and development activities for NVH and Acoustic treatments.
Responsibilities- Represent NVH in packaging meetings and design gates to execute the NVH content strategy in CAD, and provide an NVH input for packaging studies
- Create NVH criteria / packaging CAD for interior acoustics, exterior acoustics, damping, baffles, sealing strategies both in 2D section and 3D to ensure the NVH is successfully integrated
- Design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and 2D drawing creation.
- Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
- Create part specification requirements and BOM.
- Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
- Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection.
- Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.
- Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs
- Travel to client sites required.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years relevant industry experience.
- Education with the following specialties preferred:
Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing. - 3+ years of experience doing 3D design in CATIA V6/3DX
- Experience designing dashboard mats, acoustic trims, insulators, baffles, bushings, isolators etc.
- Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) required.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
The pay range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base pay only. Actual salary offer may vary based on work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
California Pay Range: $60 USD - $65 USD
