Hire Art is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find an NVH Attribute Engineer to develop and integrate vehicle-level noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) performance across thermal systems, aeroacoustics, and airborne noise.
In this role, you'll define NVH requirements, evaluate vehicle performance through testing and analysis, and collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure NVH targets are incorporated throughout vehicle development. You'll also investigate performance issues, identify root causes, and develop countermeasures that improve the overall customer experience.
The ideal candidate is an experienced NVH engineer with a strong understanding of acoustics and vibration principles and hands-on experience with vehicle-level testing, instrumentation, and data analysis. You are analytical, collaborative, and comfortable representing NVH requirements throughout the vehicle development process.
As An NVH Attribute Engineer, You'll- Develop and integrate NVH performance attributes across thermal systems, aeroacoustics, wind noise, and airborne noise.
- Translate the voice of the customer into vehicle-level NVH requirements and ensure designs meet established performance targets.
- Develop and coordinate CAE and hardware validation plans and communicate NVH status during engineering reviews and program gates.
- Represent NVH in packaging reviews and design gates, providing technical input for CAD and vehicle packaging studies.
- Conduct vehicle- and bench-level testing and apply methods such as transfer path analysis to assess performance and quantify noise contributions.
- Develop and refine NVH test methodologies and analyze data to improve testing accuracy and efficiency.
- Investigate design impacts and performance issues, determine root causes, and develop effective countermeasures.
- Document test procedures, analysis, findings, and results in detailed technical reports.
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
- 4+ years of automotive or related NVH development experience
- Strong understanding of acoustics and vibration principles
- Experience with vehicle-level NVH development and integration
- Hands-on experience with vehicle testing, instrumentation, and data acquisition
- Experience with acoustic and vibration test equipment and analysis software such as LMS Test.
Lab, HEAD Acoustics ArtemiS, or similar tools - Excellent written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience presenting technical recommendations and advocating for NVH requirements in large design and engineering forums
- NVH development experience involving thermal systems, acoustics, wind noise, or aeroacoustics
- A master's degree in mechanical engineering

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via Hire Art. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Foster City, CA area.
