Job Description Team SummaryThe FX Trading team manages all FX activity across Visa, managing currency risk and pricing across different entities and business lines, and our associated hedging activities that underpin our cross‑border business. The team acts as financial market SMEs, working alongside Product, Technology and Commercialization to structure and bring to market new products whilst protecting Visa from financial risk.
What an eFX Trader does at VisaVisa is engaged in a multi‑year FX investment cycle and this role will be responsible for providing technical expertise, supporting operational implementation delivery and covering the day‑to‑day operations of the eFX (electronic FX) trading business.
The eFX Trader will manage FX risk and liquidity across Visa, actively review client performance and use analytics to improve business performance to support the growth of the Visa cross‑border business.
The core responsibilities of this role involve both managing market risk as part of BAU and supporting ongoing FX infrastructure work across Visa:
- Manage all day‑to‑day exposures for the group efficiently and in line with risk appetite and limits.
- Collaborate closely with the data and risk teams to implement and monitor the current eFX strategic design.
- Engage with relevant teams to support FX product design and configuration, operating within a continual improvement delivery cycle framework.
- Support the implementation of the roadmap for eFX Trading product and deliver the business OKRs related to financial targets, client delivery, risk and controls.
- Manage liquidity providers daily and collaborate with global sales and product teams to drive the client agenda.
This role will report to the Global Head of FX Trading and act as a leader as we build out a specialist trading function in Singapore, supporting regional analytics and reporting, and representing Trading in local business discussions.

Hybrid position – located in our Foster City, CA office. Requires at least 3 days in office, with the specific days confirmed by the Hiring Manager.
Basic Qualifications- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree, or 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree, or 0 years with a PhD.
- 5+ years of experience in an FX role, including trading, sales or product.
- Experience working on the buy side, sell side, or as a vendor for FX technology platforms.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with curiosity and hunger to learn about the FX market and trading.
- Ability to apply quantitative methods to eFX pricing and risk management and use data science to identify patterns and observations.
- Knowledge and understanding of payment rails, ecosystem and infrastructure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive and business‑building aptitude.
- Ability to conceptualize solutions and execute on them.
- Pragmatic approach to prioritization while thinking creatively on project work.
- Team player who can collaborate and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- 6 or more years of experience with a Bachelors Degree, or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree, or up to 3 years with a PhD.
- Previous experience in eFX trading infrastructure, API connectivity, GUI and stream configuration.
- Knowledge and understanding of eFX pricing and risk management strategies.
