Job Description -

We are seeking a highly analytical and motivated Commercial Business Analyst to drive data‑informed decision‑making within our commercial life sciences team. This role is responsible for querying, interpreting, and visualizing complex, multi‑source pharmaceutical data (specifically IQVIA datasets) to provide actionable insights. The ideal candidate will support commercial excellence by improving sales force targeting, segmenting healthcare providers (HCPs), designing Incentive Compensation (IC) plans, and managing Specialty Pharmacy/Data (SP/SD) reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • IQVIA Data Mastery & Analytics:
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret pharmaceutical data using SQL and Excel, leveraging IQVIA datasets such as MIDAS, DDD (Detailed Diagnostic Data), NPA (National Prescription Audit), and LAAD (Longitudinal Access and Adjudication Data).
  • Perform end‑to‑end data manipulation—from data ingestion and cleaning to synthesis and visualization.
  • Perform patient‑level analysis to understand the patient journey, specialty pharmacy (SP) distribution, and Specialty Data (SD) trends.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain segmentation models for Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Healthcare Organizations (HCOs) to support targeting strategies.
  • Analyze HCP adoption and prescription behavior to prioritize high‑value targets for marketing and sales efforts.
  • Commercial Excellence & BI:
  • Design and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), field sales performance, and brand KPIs.
  • Create, maintain, and automate commercial reporting for stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Market Access).
  • Support the design, implementation, and tracking of field sales Incentive Compensation (IC) plans.
  • Evaluate sales territory performance and provide data‑driven recommendations for adjustments.
  • Strategic Insights & Consulting:
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into actionable analytical solutions.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analyses to identify growth opportunities.
  • Present findings to management through clear, concise reports and presentations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, Life Sciences, Data Science, or related quantitative field.
  • Industry

    Experience:

    3+ years of commercial analytics experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
  • Data Tools: Expert‑level SQL skills for data extraction and transformation. Proficiency in Data Visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • IQVIA Proficiency: Strong, hands‑on experience with IQVIA datasets (DDD, NPA, LAAD, MIDAS).
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Advanced Excel skills (modeling, VLOOKUP, pivot tables). Experience with R or Python for advanced analytics is a plus.
  • Functional Knowledge: Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercial metrics (TRx, NRx, NBRx, Patient Days, Market Share).
  • Communication: Proven ability to communicate complex data findings to non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Veeva).
  • Experience in specialty pharmacy data modeling and Specialty Pharmacy (SP) data integration.
  • Familiarity with Data Governance and Data Privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
