Scientific Business Analyst

Responsibilities

Partner closely with laboratory scientists and research stakeholders to understand current lab workflows, pain points, and desired future state capabilities.

• Lead structured requirements elicitation activities (interviews, workshops, process walkthroughs) and translate findings into clear, actionable business requirements.
• Develop and maintain key artifacts such as:
  • Process flows and use cases
  • Functional requirements and acceptance criteria
• Collaborate with the project manager to liaison between business users and IT delivery teams (data engineering, platform, and solution architecture).
• Validate proposed solutions with end users to ensure alignment with scientific workflows and research objectives.
• Participate in project governance forums and working sessions as needed.
• Collaborate with the project manager to support change management and user adoption by helping define training needs and ensuring requirements reflect real-world lab usage.

• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst on complex technology or data-driven projects.
• Demonstrated experience working with laboratory scientists, research teams, or lab informatics systems.
• Experience in biopharma, life sciences, or scientific R&D environments.
• Strong ability to translate scientific or operational needs into structured requirements without prescribing technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills; comfortable working across business, scientific, and IT audiences.
