About the Role:
Enabling Autonomous Innovation
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to support the build and maintenance of custom machines essential for software simulation. This dynamic role involves working with complex systems, developing new ways to support a rapidly moving research and development organization, and ensuring the seamless operation of critical test platforms. You will be instrumental in assembling custom hardware for Hardware-in-the-Loop testing, integrating sophisticated network and vehicle system components, and troubleshooting intricate issues, directly contributing to the advancement of autonomous vehicle technology.
What You’ll Do:- Support and track various configurations and generations of test platforms for vehicle simulation and software testing.
- Assemble custom hardware to enable Hardware-in-the-Loop testing of software builds.
- Utilize commercially available, off-the-shelf components to build robust computer systems.
- Integrate network and vehicle system components within server racks.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair test hardware and equipment efficiently.
- Build cable harnesses accurately based on provided diagrams and drawings.
- Occasionally move computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Create and track tickets within a ticketing system to address problems, incidents, and changes related to hardware, providing detailed records of work performed.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for parts receiving, installations, upgrades, and decommissioning projects.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to use general shop, automotive, and diagnostic tools (e.g., Digital Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Harnessing Tools).
- Proven experience with building and troubleshooting cable harnessing, coupled with familiarity in cable management.
- Extensive experience with building, troubleshooting, and diagnosing computers and computer components.
- Working knowledge of computer and networking hardware.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to lift 25-30 pound boxes.
- Ability to crawl and bend to work on low ground wiring as needed.
- Experience with standard office productivity, ticketing, and collaboration tools.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems.
- Experience in running scripts and working with Linux-based systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
