As a member of a multidisciplinary research team, you will play a key role in evaluating and advancing promising therapeutic approaches from early discovery through preclinical development. As a member of a multidisciplinary research team, you will play a key role in evaluating and advancing promising therapeutic approaches from early discovery through preclinical development. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge research focused on improving treatment options and outcomes for patients living with chronic viral diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, validate, and execute virology, cell‑based, biochemical, and immunology assays to support research programs.
- Construct, generate, and propagate wild‑type and mutant viral systems for experimental studies.
- Evaluate the potency of candidate therapeutics, including EC50 determination against wild‑type and mutant viruses.
- Investigate and characterize the mechanism of action (MOA) of lead compounds to support translational and clinical development efforts.
- Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data, drawing scientifically sound conclusions and recommendations.
- Proactively troubleshoot technical challenges and identify solutions through experimental observations, scientific literature, and collaboration with team members.
- Plan and execute experiments that align with project objectives and timelines.
- Contribute to a highly collaborative, cross‑functional research environment and actively participate in team and project meetings.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate findings effectively to project teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of project goals, scientific principles, and experimental methodologies.
- Select and apply appropriate techniques and procedures with general scientific guidance.
- Independently manage projects of moderate complexity with limited supervision.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and recommend new methods, technologies, or experimental approaches.
- Clearly communicate scientific findings through presentations, reports, and discussions.
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology
, or a related life sciences discipline. - Minimum 4 years of relevant industry and/or academic research experience
.
Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following areas is highly preferred:
- Primary cell isolation and cell culture
- ELISA and other immunological assay platforms
- Molecular biology techniques, including:
- RNA/DNA isolation
- qPCR
- Cloning
- Virus production and characterization
- Immune cell functional assays
- Multi‑color flow cytometry (FACS)
- Creative, results‑driven, and scientifically curious problem solver.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced research environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data quality, identify anomalies, and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively within cross‑functional and multidisciplinary teams.
