Software Engineer - Motion Planning

Our client, a leading innovator in autonomous vehicle technology, is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team. As a Software Engineer, you will be part of the Motion Planning department supporting the development of advanced driving algorithms. Job Title: Software Engineer

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $93 per hour

• Implement, debug, and test features and modifications to driving behavior in production code.
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers to understand design specifications and ensure high‑quality code delivery.
• Utilize backend tooling to run regression tests and validate changes across various driving scenarios.
• Participate in on‑vehicle drive reviews, collecting data and providing actionable feedback on driving performance.
• Contribute to the development of algorithms that enhance the robot’s ability to navigate complex environments safely.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field.
• 0–5 years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in C++ programming language.
• Familiarity with motion planning and pathfinding techniques such as A*, RRTs, and PRMs.
• Experience with large‑scale codebases, version control systems like Git, and software development workflows.
