Job Title: Senior EV Diagnostics Software Developer

Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior EV Diagnostics Software Developer to support next-generation Electric Vehicle (EV) programs at a leading OEM customer location. This role is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of embedded diagnostic software for EV Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and domain controllers.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Embedded C++ development
, MATLAB/Simulink (Model-Based Development), and automotive diagnostics architecture
, with emphasis on hand-coded diagnostic logic and fault management frameworks
.
- Design and develop embedded diagnostics software for EV systems including:
- Chassis systems
- Thermal management systems
- Vehicle Control Units (VCU)
- Implement diagnostic features including:
- Fault detection and isolation
- Fault latching and debouncing
- Degradation and recovery strategies
- Develop software using:
- Embedded C/C++
- MATLAB / Simulink (MBD)
- Auto-code generation tools (where applicable)
- Translate FMEA/FMEDA, system requirements, and functional safety inputs into diagnostic logic
- Collaborate with OEM cross-functional teams (systems, controls, safety, calibration, validation)
- Support software integration, debugging, and issue resolution
- Conduct code reviews, static analysis, and unit testing
- Support validation activities including SIL, MIL, HIL, bench, and vehicle-level testing
- Contribute to diagnostics architecture and framework development
- Ensure compliance with ASPICE, MISRA, ISO 26262, and AUTOSAR standards
- Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in automotive embedded software development
- Strong hands‑on experience with:
- Embedded C++
- MATLAB / Simulink
- Embedded software architecture
- Model-Based Development (MBD)
- Experience in automotive diagnostics and fault management software
- Strong understanding of:
- Fault detection and isolation
- Experience with communication protocols:
- CAN, LIN, Ethernet
- Experience in embedded software integration, debugging, and validation
- Familiarity with version control tools (Git/SVN)
- Experience with EV systems:
- BCM, VCU, chassis, thermal systems
- Knowledge of:
- ISO 26262 Functional Safety
- ASPICE
- AUTOSAR (Classic / Adaptive)
- Experience with tools:
- Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, Da Vinci
- ETAS toolchain
- Experience with:
- Automotive cybersecurity concepts
- Prior experience working with OEM teams onsite
