Sr. SW Test Engineer

Job Description

Visa is looking for Senior Software Test Engineers to help build Open Visa Net, Visa's next‑generation payment processing platform. The platform is a modern, distributed architecture built on open systems such as Go, Scala, Apache Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Aerospike, and Elasticsearch, designed to support in‑country processing solutions and achieve high availability, fault tolerance, horizontal scalability, and low latency for large‑scale transaction processing.

• Develop test cases, execute tests, and report defects throughout the software development life cycle by analyzing functional and business requirements.
• Collaborate with scrum teams to refine user stories, plan sprint work, and execute test scenarios.
• Collaborate with Dev Ops teams for continuous testing and environment setup.
• Establish quality processes to ensure quality expectations are always met or exceeded.
• Maintain and/or develop test scripts to automate functional and regression test scenarios.
• Participate in design discussions to provide input on functional requirements, product design, and potential problems.
• Adhere to company software testing processes and policies, retain audit compliance, and support end users during testing cycles.
• Collaborate with cross‑site teams to ensure quality assurance aligns with global initiatives and requirements.
• Develop in‑depth knowledge and understanding of the systems you are responsible for as a Test Engineer.

• Minimum 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, or 5+ years of relevant work experience; preferred if 3+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or >2 years with an Advanced Degree (Masters, MBA, JD, MD).
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on development experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across teams.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, Jira, Confluence.
• Experience with unit, acceptance, performance, non‑functional, certification test life cycles, and BDD/TDD methodology.
• Experience testing software at API level using SOAP UI, Postman, REST Client, etc.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Selenium, Gherkin.
• Knowledge of executing automation scripts on CI tools like Jenkins.
• Knowledge of functional programming languages such as Go, Scala, Erlang, or the ability to learn them quickly.
• Experience with distributed source control systems such as Git.
• Experience with distributed databases, distributed computing, and high‑frequency transactions is a plus.
• Comprehensive knowledge of VISA business and payment applications is preferred.

The estimated salary range for this position is $ to $ USD per year and may include potential sales incentive payments. Salary may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and location. The position may also be eligible for bonus and equity. This position requires travel 5‑10% of the time.

The role is performed in an office setting, requiring sitting, standing at a desk, and communicating in person or by telephone. Standard office equipment such as telephones and computers will be used frequently.
