High‑definition HD maps are foundational to enabling safe, scalable autonomous driving. We are seeking highly motivated engineers who are passionate about solving complex, real‑world problems and building state‑of‑the‑art mapping systems.

In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse, cross‑functional team to design and develop large‑scale HD mapping algorithms, workflows, and data pipelines. Your work will directly impact our ability to efficiently map new cities and continuously update existing maps at scale, playing a critical role in accelerating our autonomous vehicle deployment.

• Automate large‑scale mapping pipelines and workflows
• Contribute to scalable algorithms for map creation, validation, and maintenance
• Ensure system reliability and performance through testing, debugging, and continuous improvement of production systems
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with a variety of teams working on perception, planning, prediction, simulation, etc.
• Propose tool and/or feature ideas to the team to improve processes

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of experience
• Proficiency in C++ and Python
• Experience in cloud / distributed computing and automating pipelines
• Experience in industry software devops workflow and tools, e.g., CI / CD
• Experience working with 3D sensor data from cameras and/or lidars

• Experience with mapping or geospatial data
• Experience with React and frontend development
• Experience with database design and API development

$176,000 - $240,000 a year Base Salary Range. The range applies only to the base salary; compensation also includes Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, and potentially a sign‑on bonus. Salary varies by geographic location and level, and is determined by experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
