Job Description
AI Governance (AIG) Engineering team is part of the Data and AI Platform (DAP) technology organization team’s mission is to provide a Trustworthy AI – an engineering solution that enables Visa to achieve centralized AI excellence. We develop, assess, and deploy AI systems responsibly and transparently, building the AI Observatory product that inventories ML models, oversees their full lifecycle, and governs accuracy, transparency, fairness, and robustness.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable AI governance services.
- Apply robust architectural principles to create an effective and efficient solution.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—data scientists, product managers, and legal experts—to ensure AI systems comply with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Build an advanced Responsible AI platform using the latest Generative AI technology.
- Address evolving AI governance challenges, ensuring the creation of responsible and trustworthy AI solutions.
- Investigate and assess emerging technologies and third‑party solutions, prototyping and strategizing their integration within Visa.
Hybrid position: office days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. Visa requires at least 3 days in office.
Qualifications- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 2 years with an advanced degree (Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years with a PhD. (Preferred Qualifications)
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years with an advanced degree or up to 3 years with a PhD.
- MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in the software technology industry.
- Experience participating in all phases of development—design, coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and monitoring of applications.
- Hands‑on with Python or React.js, capable of reviewing auto‑generated code for potential issues.
- Experience using code generators to create full‑stack applications.
- Experience managing containers and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working in an agile environment.
- Ability to evaluate software, write proof of concepts, and design new systems.
- Up‑to‑date with Generative AI trends.
- Strong understanding of agentic frameworks.
- Experience with Generative AI models and developing applications that leverage their capabilities.
- Experience addressing AI Governance issues—bias, drift, risk, privacy, and security.
- Published work and delivered presentations on Generative AI topics to large audiences.
Estimated salary range: $169,100–$270,800 per year (may include sales incentive payments). Eligible for bonus and equity. Comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
Work HoursVaries based on departmental needs.
Travel Requirements5–10% of time.
