Part-time Student Worker – Autonomous Driving & Geofence Expansion

About the Role

At Zoox, we are building a full‑stack autonomous mobility solution from the ground up. Within our Autonomy Software organization, we are actively expanding our self‑driving capabilities to new geofences — pushing our vehicles into more complex and diverse real‑world environments.

We are looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer Co‑Op to support this expansion effort. Working directly with our autonomy engineering teams, you will gain hands‑on experience developing, testing, and analyzing the software that powers our autonomous vehicles. • Software Development & Testing: Support development and testing efforts to improve driving performance across new geofences, contributing directly to the reliability and safety of our AV stack.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Assist in collecting, analyzing, and reporting on autonomous driving data to surface insights that drive engineering decisions.
• System Evaluation: Help analyze and test autonomy software, identifying failure modes and supporting root cause investigations.
• Documentation: Contribute to clear, accurate technical documentation to support team knowledge sharing and process consistency.

• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Technical Chops: Proficiency in C++, with familiarity with software development processes and best practices.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions.
• Collaborative Spirit: Comfortable working across teams and communicating technical findings clearly to peers and leads.
• Proactive Attitude: Self‑motivated and eager to learn in a fast‑paced, high‑impact engineering environment.

$30 per hour.

This is a contract position and employment for this position will be through a vendor contracted with Zoox. The hourly pay range is posted and you will be eligible for a benefits package as offered by the vendor.
