About the OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Systems Integration Engineer to join our client, a leader in the automotive manufacturing sector. This 6-month engagement focuses on supporting manufacturing line requirements through the design, development, and implementation of robust automation and SCADA systems. This is a hands‑on, onsite role for a self‑motivated professional who can troubleshoot complex production issues and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional manufacturing engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- System Implementation:
Work closely with manufacturing engineers to design and implement Ignition-based systems to support manufacturing line requirements. - Software Development:
Develop and implement software programs for automation systems and equipment; create engineering tools to support production activities. - Production Support:
Provide on‑site, in‑person support for manufacturing production lines to resolve system‑related issues. - Integration:
- Integrate Ignition systems with PLCs using Kepware through OPC UA servers.
- Manage integration between the Ignition system and SAP ME/Mii systems.
- Execute web service calls as required.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Master’s degree preferred). - SCADA Expertise:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in SCADA system usage in a manufacturing environment (requirements analysis, design definition, software development, and solutions implementation). - Ignition Platform: 5+ years of hands‑on experience implementing SCADA systems with in-depth proficiency in the Inductive Automation Ignition software platform, including strong programming skills in both Vision and Perspective modules.
- Programming Proficiency:
Strong software programming skills in high‑level languages (e.g., Python, Java) and the ability to program complex database queries. - Process Understanding:
Proven ability to understand complex manufacturing processes and plant floor system architectures. - Professional Attributes:
Customer‑focused, positive, self‑motivated, and a team player. Must thrive in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing production environment.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols.
