Quality Engineer - 1yr Contract

1st shift - 1 year contract

• $35.00 to $38.00 / annually
• First Shift
• Support compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific quality requirements.
• Lead root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why, and other structured problem-solving methods.
• Develop and maintain APQP documentation, including PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, SPC, and MSA.
• Analyze quality data, customer complaints, scrap, warranty, and production trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support new product launches, process validation, and production readiness activities.
• Perform process, product, layered process, and internal quality audits.
• Coordinate containment activities, corrective actions, and verification of permanent solutions.
• Monitor process capability and quality performance using statistical analysis and key quality metrics.
• Partner with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, and Operations to improve manufacturing processes, reduce defects, and drive continuous improvement.
• Support customer and supplier quality concerns, including audits, investigations, and corrective action implementation.
• Review engineering changes to ensure quality documentation and manufacturing processes remain current.
• Train and support production personnel on quality standards, inspection methods, and control plans.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of Quality Engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA).
• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and quality standards.
• Experience performing internal, process, and customer quality audits.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience working in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of automotive seating, interiors, or assembly operations is a plus.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt, or Lead Auditor certification is preferred.
