Controller

The Controller oversees Accounting staff, and may perform Accounts Receivable and Payable functions, ensure accurate account coding, preparation of disbursements, and accounting-related recordkeeping.

Responsibilities:

• Codes invoices with account/department numbers according to distribution in the general ledger; determines dates for invoices to be paid; keys invoices into computerized accounts payable system.
• Maintains alphabetical open invoice file for unpaid invoices.
• On a weekly basis, reviews invoices scheduled for payment, wire transfers, ACH transactions and special check requests.
• If not performed by other department staff, may attach duplicate copy of checks to original invoices, stamp invoices "Paid" and file in permanent records.
• Reconcile vendor accounts by communicating directly with vendors.
• Prints, verifies, and maintains accounts payable voucher reports, open/aging reports, disbursement reports, and journals.
• Respond to vendors or other departments regarding payment status of invoices.
• Perform or oversee monthly status reports, and monthly closings.
• File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records and reports.
• All other duties as required.

Education/ Training:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Computer proficiency; MS office Suite. Strong Excel skills, required. Expert in Excel, preferred. 10-key by touch. Experience in Project Accounting/Percentage of Completion Microsoft Dynamics system experience. CPA preferred

Experience:

3-4 Years of experience with full cycle general accounting.

Pay: $150,000-$215,000 #MCTA1
