Finance Intern
(20-25 hours per week, Mon – Fri)
The Finance Intern will provide administrative support to the Finance and Purchasing Departments. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with grant billing and fixed asset backup.
- Updating journal entries, investment activity report, water production data and special projects.
- Assisting with agreements and contracts, maintaining insurance files and equipment, vehicle and fuel cards lists.
- Composing and typing miscellaneous correspondence, administrative filing, creating simple MS Excel spreadsheets and letters using MS Word.
- Performing other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.
Current enrollment in a full‑time, accredited bachelor’s or graduate degree program pursuing a degree in business, accounting, economics or a related field, with a current GPA of 2.0 or higher. Must have at least one year remaining in school. Ability to work up to 25 hours a week. Basic understanding of modern business practices and procedures, business letter writing and elements of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, and mathematics.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
A valid California Class “C” Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance are required.

Environment: Standard office setting.
Physical: Positions in this class typically require fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Sedentary work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Incumbents require sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting;
stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; operate office equipment including use of a computer keyboard; push, pull, lift, and/or carry light amounts of weight; verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents; and to operate assigned equipment.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
ScheduleMonday to Friday between 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM. This is a part‑time internship not to exceed 25 hours/week.
Hourly RateUndergraduate: $20 per hour & Graduate: $25 per hour
Candidates given an offer of employment will be required to pass a medical examination and background check.
