We are seeking an Electrical Construction Inspector for a major wastewater infrastructure program in Orange County, California, ensuring quality and safety throughout construction of wastewater treatment plants and pump stations.
Responsibilities- Review construction documents, including plans and specifications, and verify contractor compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Inspect moderately complex to complex plant and collection facilities, ensuring materials and construction practices meet specifications.
- Coordinate equipment isolation, tie‑ins, and process connections with contractors.
- Assist safety representatives with job hazard analysis and maintain a safe construction environment, following traffic control plans and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate as‑built contract drawings, approve final drawings, and assist with change orders and plan clarifications.
- Prepare daily inspection reports, photo logs, field test results, and other construction records; assist in monthly progress reporting.
- Attend construction meetings and collaborate with contractors, regulatory agencies, utilities, city officials, and the public to ensure timely, quality completion.
- 10+ years of construction inspection experience.
- Proven experience with water or wastewater treatment facilities and/or pump stations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, schematics, P&, and single‑line diagrams, and to update contract drawings.
- Willingness to work night, graveyard shifts, and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat or Blue Beam.
- Certifications such as ICC, NACE, NFPA (or ability to obtain).
The hourly base rate ranges from $45.00 to $77.00, varying by location and experience. Paid hour‑by‑hour based on hours worked.
