EPIC Associate Instructional Designer / eLearning Developer

Pay Rate: $68.00 - $72.00 per hour
Our client is seeking an Epic Associate Instructional Designer / eLearning Developer to support enterprise-wide Epic education initiatives through the design, development, and maintenance of engaging training materials and eLearning content. Working collaboratively with Epic analysts, instructional designers, and operational stakeholders, this individual will help create role-based learning experiences that improve user performance and support successful adoption of Epic applications.
The ideal candidate has experience in instructional design, adult learning principles, eLearning development, and Epic workflows, along with strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities Instructional Design & Content Development- Design, develop, and update instructor-led and web-based Epic training materials.
- Create engaging eLearning courses, learning modules, job aids, quick reference guides, and instructional documentation.
- Develop interactive learning activities, scenario-based exercises, and knowledge checks aligned with learning objectives.
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to improve learner engagement and knowledge retention.
- Write clear learning objectives, course descriptions, and instructional content.
- Test completed courses for quality, functionality, accuracy, and learner experience.
- Revise educational materials based on user feedback and organizational needs.
- Partner with Epic Analysts and operational stakeholders to understand workflow changes and educational needs.
- Support Epic upgrades, implementations, optimization initiatives, and system enhancements.
- Lead educational validation sessions and provide recommendations regarding training impacts.
- Maintain expertise in assigned Epic applications and training environments.
- Oversee and support Epic training environments to ensure effective end-user learning experiences.
- Collaborate with Epic analysts and operational teams to understand workflow changes and training requirements.
- Ensure Epic system updates and enhancements are reflected in educational content and documentation.
- Maintain knowledge of assigned Epic applications and workflows.
- Assist with maintaining and testing Epic training environments.
- Support ongoing education initiatives that promote effective Epic utilization.
- Partner with instructional design team members to develop high-quality learning solutions.
- Recommend improvements to training materials, course design, and learning strategies.
- Coordinate course logistics including scheduling, registrations, classroom support, and training resources as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of educational content and training processes.
- Meet project timelines while managing multiple assignments in a collaborative environment.
- Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, training development, or eLearning.
- Experience developing web-based training using course authoring and multimedia development tools.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies.
- Experience designing engaging digital learning experiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Epic Grand Central/Prelude Associate Certification required.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of Epic experience.
- Experience supporting healthcare education and Epic training initiatives.
- Experience creating instructor-led and online learning programs.
- Customer service or healthcare operations experience.
- Knowledge of Epic workflows and training environments.
