MPA provides after-sales service parts support for Hyundai Motors, Kia Motors, and Genesis. In addition to the distribution of genuine service parts, the MPA Accessories division develops accessories for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis - which are installed on new vehicles in the United States and Canada.
DescriptionThe Accessory Development Engineer will guide new accessories through the development process from initiation to production and provide input on specifications, design criteria, and approval requirements. The Engineer follows established engineering processes and guides suppliers, customers and internal Mobis resources to see that issues are resolved promptly and projects completed on time.
Key Responsibilities- Works with suppliers in designing, testing and approving accessories to ensure milestone readiness, including 100% on-time launch. (40%) Using engineering principles, CAD and available engineering tools, execute design analysis and evaluation of assigned projects to assure all products meet all State and Federal regulations and established design standards. (40%)
- Improve accessory quality through lessons learned activities utilizing DFMEA and post-development meetings with program shareholders. (10%)
- Reports on project status, maintains records and files documents per department policy to maintain reporting and communications of development status. (10%)
- Work with external and internal resources in defining new products, generating proposals and project plans, and developing appropriate product performance and validation specifications. Conduct status meetings with suppliers and customers.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation such as Drawings, DFMEA, DVP&R, prototype fitments, specifications, and other engineering documentation.
- Manage project plans including key deliverables, timeline, and open issues and report on the status of each program.
- Perform part installations and document fitment, performance and technical issues.
- Coordinate and attend various communication meetings with customers.
- Support APQP and PPAP documentation.
- Support installation training events at Ports of Entry and Vehicle Personalization Centers.
- Root cause analysis in troubleshooting development and field issues.
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, with possibility of Hybrid work arrangement.
- Minimal overnight travel (up to 30%) by land and/or air.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
- 2-4 years of development experience.
- Experience in program management through work experiences or college team projects.
- Experience in design, design analysis and material and part testing.

CompensationAnnual Salary: $57,898.31 - $85,978.99
