Job Description & How to Apply Below
Mid-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer

Orange County, CA (On-Site)

Why This Role Stands Out

Join a fast-growing engineering team focused exclusively on water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects that directly impact communities and sustainability.

This is a true design-forward role - ideal for engineers who want to stay hands-on technically, not get pulled into purely administrative project management.

You'll work on a mix of:

* Advanced treatment systems

* Municipal pipeline and conveyance infrastructure

* Recycled and potable water systems

…and have the opportunity to own your work from concept through construction.

What You'll Actually Do

* Design and analyze water and wastewater systems (treatment OR infrastructure)

* Perform hydraulic modeling and engineering calculations (Water

GEMS, Sewer

GEMS or similar)

* Prepare:

* Construction documents (plans, specs, estimates)

* Technical reports and design memos

* Support permitting efforts (SDWA, NPDES, Title 22) [

* Collaborate with:

* Engineers, CAD teams, and project stakeholders

* Gain exposure to:

* Fieldwork, site visits, and construction support

This is not a "support role" - expectation is owning technical design and contributing immediately.

What We're Looking For

* 5-15 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering

* PE license (or ability to obtain)

* Experience in ONE of the following areas:

* Treatment systems (process design, plants)

* Conveyance/infrastructure (pipelines, pumping, storage)

Technical Strengths:

* Hydraulic calculations + modeling

* System design ownership (not just coordination)

* Technical report writing

* Ability to work independently and direct design work

Not the Right Fit If You…

* Primarily work in land development or general civil

* Have a stormwater-only or non-water background

* Focus more on project coordination than design

* Cannot clearly explain engineering decisions or calculations

This role is specifically for engineers who design, not just review or manage.

Nice to Have

* Experience with Info Water, Bio Win, or similar tools

* Municipal or water district project experience

* Exposure to permitting and regulatory coordination

* Mentorship or leadership experience

Growth & Opportunity

You'll have a clear path toward:

* Project Management

* Technical Leadership

* Hybrid or custom career tracks

You'll also gain exposure across both:

* Treatment operations ("inside the plant")

* Infrastructure systems ("outside the fence")

…allowing you to shape your long-term direction.

Why Engineers Choose This Role

* Stay technical - not forced into PM too early

* Work on high-impact water projects

* Join a collaborative, design-focused team

* Build long-term career depth in a stable, growing market

If you're an engineer who wants to own design, stay hands-on, and work on meaningful water infrastructure projects, this is the role.
