PositionSummary
The Payroll Application Specialist is responsible for support, training, and maintenance of information related to Time & Attendance, Staff Scheduling, (as well as how these modules integrate with other systems). The Payroll Application Specialist will interact and communicate effectively with management, staff, and vendors.
Responsibilities- Represents Central Scheduling Liaisons at each campus in any API/Symplr initiatives.
- Standardizes, prioritizes, and evaluates Central Scheduling Liaisons delivered services across all entities in conjunction with the Central Scheduling Liaisons direct supervisors.
- Advocates for Memorial Care to ensure vendor solutions meet Payroll and Scheduling needs and outstanding issues are resolved timely. Serves as a primary functional liaison on any escalated API/Symplyr issues and system enhancement requests.
- Works with Central Scheduling liaisons to ensure updates in the API/Symplr system follow the established standards and adhere to MHS policies.
- Provides testing and auditing assistance as upgrades are implemented and communicates changes to Payroll and Scheduling accordingly.
- Participates in configuration and testing of system changes including new pay codes and rules.
- Routinely communicates (verbally and in writing) with Payroll management regarding system issues.
- Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills when training management and or staff on functionally of API/Symplr modules.
- Able to create reports out of API/Symplr.
- Duties include analyzing data, strategizing ideas to improve business operations and provide suggestions based on the analysis. Create reports, dashboards and visualizations to help others understand business performance.
- Assist with Payroll processing duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with healthcare systems, including Time and Attendance, and Staff Scheduling Systems.
- Experience with Microsoft report writer within the Microsoft Visual Studio Report Designer preferred.
- Knowledge of Scheduling and staffing concepts and systems.
- Working knowledge of payroll practices and CA Wage and Hour and must have knowledge of scheduling practices and be able to analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement in the staff scheduling process using the application.
- Experience with analyzing data and problem resolution.
- Experience with API/Symplr preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science.
