Backorder Management Analyst – Automotive Parts (Fountain Valley, CA)

Advantage Technical is hiring a Backorder Management Analyst to support the procurement team of a leading automotive OEM parts and accessories organization in Fountain Valley, CA. This temporary role is central to keeping OE service and accessory parts flowing to dealers, with direct visibility into fill rate, freight, and inventory performance.

Pay Rate: $26.14-$38.55/hr

Position Type: Temporary

Schedule: Regular Business Hours, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Travel Required: Up to 10% travel (land/air)

What You’ll Do (Job Duties)

Review daily dealer backorder reports and resolve issues, including XVOR/UPER orders, to minimize buyback risk. Provide dealers with accurate ETAs and report resolution status to management daily. Use parts catalogs to identify alternative resolutions, partnering with parts technical and dealer support teams. Collaborate with PDC, Logistics, Customs, Pricing, and Sales to resolve delays. Recommend Part Master updates for supply levels, supersession codes, and part control codes.

Monitor and report on KPIs including open and aged backorder line counts, and XVORs. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train employees. Generate KPI reports and executive summaries on a daily through annual basis. Support ad-hoc analysis, special projects, and additional tasks as needed.

What You Bring (Qualifications and Requirements)
  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of directly related experience in inventory management.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and follow up to ensure positive outcomes.
Preferred Experience and Certifications

APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) or other supply chain-related certification.
