The Kitting Supervisor leads and coordinates daily kitting and material fulfillment operations to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient material flow in support of manufacturing production schedules. This hands-on leader oversees kitting personnel, inventory control activities, material staging, and warehouse-related transactions while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, accountability, and operational performance. Working within a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment producing wire harnesses, cable assemblies, overmolded products, and electromechanical assemblies, the Kitting Supervisor ensures production teams receive the correct materials, quantities, revisions, and documentation required to maintain schedule attainment and prevent downtime.
The role partners closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams to create standard operating processes, optimize material flow, improve inventory accuracy, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and supervise daily kitting operations, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and accurately in accordance with company procedures and production requirements.
- Assign and prioritize daily kitting activities based on production schedules, customer requirements, and operational priorities.
- Create and optimize standard operating procedures.
- Develop processes to automate warehouse stocking, kitting, and inventory material management.
- Oversee the accurate picking, verification, assembly, and staging of production kits.
- Ensure production teams receive the correct materials, quantities, revisions, and documentation within required timelines.
- Coordinate closely with Production Planning and Manufacturing teams to adjust priorities and support schedule attainment.
- Provide daily leadership, coaching, training, and support to kitting personnel while fostering accountability, teamwork, and professional development.
